The Three Abrahamic Religions The three Abrahamic Religions do have some things in common, such as the belief that there is only one God, but they have some differences too. Beliefs in profits, beliefs in who is the real God and things such as those make their religions different. A first major difference between the religions is the book they study and follow and how they treat this book. The Islams have a book they call the Quran. The Jewish population has a book called the Talmud, and the Christianity religion has a book name The Bible. What are the differences in these books? Well first of all, they all treat them differently. The Islams never put the Quran below themselves. They think of this as if they were saying, Im higher than God, and Im more important than him. They also take very good care of it. When they arent using it they have it wrapped up inside of a cloth and set it on a high shelf. Also, no one else can touch their Quran without permission from an Islamic believer. The Quran itself states that only those who are clean and pure should touch the sacred text. About.com. N.p., n.d. Web. 3 Mar. 2013. . The Jewish population studies a book called the Talmud. They read over this book, memorize it, and sometimes go into major detail of what somethi ng in it means. The Talmud is made up of six sections, called Sedarim (orders). Each Seder contains several books called mesachot or tracts (singular: mesachet). The Talmud. Bje.org. N.p., n.d. Web. 3 Mar. 2013. . There are eleven mesachot in the Talmud. Each of them deals with many of the different Jewish laws. Lastly, there are the Christians, who study The Bible. The Bible to Christians is like a book full of different ways to live your life. Most people dont treat their bible like a special sacred book. People toss them around, lay in on their nightstand next to their beds, and other things such as that. The Bible has many different sections, some of these sections are in the Old Testament, and some are in the New Testament. Within these sections, there are many, many chapters, and within the chapters there are verses. For instance, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me -Philippians 4:13. Philippians is the section, 4 is the chapter, and 13 is the verse. As you c an see, these books are all very different within each religion. They study them differently, treat them differently, and the text within them is very different. They also have different beliefs in the coming of God and who Jesus was. The Jewish religion believes that the messiah has yet to come, whereas Christianity and Islam believe than Jesus was the messiah. The Jewish believe that messiah will come later in life and they will be taken with him. The Christians and Islams believe at the second coming of Jesus, Jesus will leave the Jewish people behind and only take true believers as to let the Jews accept the fact that this is the second coming of the messiah, then he shall later come back and bring the Jewish people with him. The places where the three religions think they will be taken after Jesus takes them with him are all different also. The Islams think they are going to an eternal paradise. Jews believe one of two things, either they are going to heaven, or they think there is no afterlife. Lastly, Christians believe they will have an eternal heaven. They also have a specific view on a bad afterlife. Islams and Christians both think they will go to eternal hell whereas Jews think they will go to either eternal Gehenna, reincarnation, or no afterlife. They also have different outlooks on the birth and death of Jesus. Christians and Islams believe Jesus was born from a virgin birth, meaning Mary just randomly by Gods will had a child she was to name Jesus. The Jewish people on the other hand think Jesus came by a normal birth, saying that Mary and Joseph had a child together. Then theres the death of Jesus, which they dont agree on either. Islams believe that Jesus did not die but ascended into heaven during crucifixion. The Jewish and Christians populations believe that he died by crucifixion. The Islam has something to say about Jews and Christians, Christians have something to say about Jews and Islams, and Jews have something to say about Christians and Islams. The Islamic people think that Jews and Christians are respected as People of the Book, but they have wrong beliefs and only partial revelation. This means that Islamic people think that the other two religions are respectable by what the Quran says, but they think that the beliefs of these people are wrong. Jewish people think that both Islam and Christianity are false interpretations and extensions of Judaism. This means that the Jews think that Islams and Christians are completely wrong in what they do and that they are not following or believing what they actually should. The y think that the other two religions should do exactly what the Jewish people do and then they would be following what they need to be. Then there is Christianity. They think that Judaism is a true religion, but with incomplete revelation. Christians believe that Jewish people are right in what they believe in, but they dont think they have full grasp of everything they need to believe in. They also think that Islam is a false religion. Christians believe that Islams are wrong in everything they do and what they are doing is completely wrong. Not everyone in this world can believe the same things, do the same things, or even partake in the same activities, but that doesnt mean they cant sometimes get along. These three religions dont hate each other, they just dont always necessarily agree with one another. Its like they are siblings fighting over where to go out to eat. One of them wants seafood, one wants barbecue, and the other wants Italian. Christians want Jesus to come take them away so they can go live an eternal life in heaven, Islams want their God to come save them so they can have an eternal life in paradise, and the Jewish people want Jesus to have his first coming and save them. They all have disagreements on whats right and whats wrong, but they can sometimes get along. For instance, they all believe in one God and worshiping that one God. They all believe that there should be a certain day on which they worship, even though these days are not the same. They all believe in a hell and demons along with angels . They all have a special book of their own that they study, and in that book is the word of that religions God. Case- Shiseido: Channeling Cosmetics in China 1. Marketing and distribution channels for cosmetics products performed mainly transactional and logistical function. Distribution channels such as the voluntary specialty chain stores perform transactional function when they buy these cosmetic products from the manufacturer and sell them in their individual stores. They share risk with the producer (Shiseido) as they stock merchandises in anticipation for sales.On the other hand, counters at departmental stores and door-to-door selling perform logistical function, whereby they gather, sort and disperse these cosmetic products at these specific counters. For example, some departmental stores may place all the cosmetics counters together on a single level/ specified area in order to serve its customers better. They can also store these products together at a single venue. Door-to-door selling brings the products directly to the consumers.Facilitating function can sometimes be performed in departmental stores as well, where they highlight the bestselling cosmetic brands/products through their own advertisements. Transactional function is generally more important than logistical function, as the former involves the exchange of value (transaction) of products and money, as well as the potential risk the intermediaries are taking up when they chose to sell these products. If the stock the intermediaries purchased is unsold, they suffer the loss and not the producer.Hence, this function involves tangible gains and losses of the intermediaries, which usually tend to value these aspects more. 2. Channel Length Channel Intensity Creation of the Aupres brand which was sold in 350 departmental stores in 2004 shows the approach of intensive distribution Shiseido undertook, Shiseido in China continued on this approach as it attempted to open specialty model stores for its own brands of cosmetic products (some imported from Japan- Shiseido UV White, and some locally produced bran ds such as WHITIA, ASPLIR) in China.This started in March 2004, which expanded to 800 stores by August 2005, and over 5000 stores by end-March in 2011 due to its success. Channel Type There are various channel types adopted by Shiseido in China. Generally, Shiseido in China is specialised and it initially focused on an exclusive group of consumers through the Aupres brand, which targeted top one percent of Chinese population. Additionally, Shiseido started to expand into medium-priced brands (Za, Pure Mild China, UNO, ASPLIR) and lower-priced brand, DQ, in 2010.It has now changed its target group towards the mass Chinese women and seeks to enhance their beauty and health. It generally segmented its range of products to suit the needs of the different consumer groups (looks for different price range of products). Under store retailing, Shiseido focuses on specialty stores through its voluntary specialty chain stores concept and selling its products through counters in departmental st ores. In 2011, Shiseido has plans to commerce in e-commerce initiatives (non-store retailing) to expand existing points of contact with customers.In 2010, Shiseido also launched a website for Chinese Mail-Order market. Factors influencing channel design and strategy †¢Customer Number/Dispersion The wide range of customers’ purchasing power in China results in the dispersion of consumer segments. -> More brands to target different marketing segments. †¢Market Practices/ Availability of Channels Large number of channels available in China – departmental stores and voluntary speciality stores. †¢Market Penetration and Coverage Initially selective (only in departmental stores) for high end products -> Intensive distribution through specialty stores. Service Quality and Response †¢Resources and Profits Improvements to be made to channel design Current channel design: Indirect channels Marketer/ Producer -> Retailers -> Consumers Shiseido can implement ot her channel designs to broaden its availability to consumers -> Implementing the multichannel marketing Shiseido can start a transactional website to increase sales and target a different consumer group from those who buy its products from retail stores. Eg. Males who find it difficult to purchase cosmetics good from retail stores. Promotional website to provide information about Shiseido’s vast range of products will also be helpful in targeting cross-channel shoppers. 3. What retail strategy does Shiseido in China adopt? How is this strategy related to its segmentation, targeting and branding strategies? Shiseido in China adopted a voluntary specialty chain stores concept and departmental stores promotion as well as drugstores recently for its in-store retailing. This uses indirect channels to distribute its products to consumers.This relates to segmentation as departmental stores and specialty chain stores cater to different groups of consumers because of the different bra nds of products they carry. More high-end and exclusive products are available in departmental stores and specialty chain stores. Medium-priced products specially designed for the China consumer market can also be found in these stores. Lower-priced brand such as DQ, can be found in drugstores instead. Evidently, different brands cater to consumer groups with diverse affluence. Shiseido is using multi-branding strategy to reach out to its consumer market.

What is a personal experience that gave you the feeling of greatest achievement of satisfaction because of the challenges you met?

Throughout my entire life, overcoming a lot of challenges has always given me a certain degree of satisfaction. However, it was my passion for track and field that provided me with the greatest satisfaction among all the challenges I have faced so far.My high school track career basically started during my freshmen year at John Cooper School in Texas. Initially, I did not take the sport very seriously because I was preoccupied with other things such as   my academics, a big drama production, and other sports such as volleyball and soccer.Moreover, I thought that my school, being a college preparatory institutions, were not as competitive in sports as compared to public schools. Nevertheless, I always enjoyed competing at various sports events during my freshmen and sophomore year at the school. However, when my parents informed me that I would be transferring to a public school nearby, I was filled with mixed emotions.I was first hesitant because I would leave behind all my friends and all the extracurricular activities I was involved in. However, I was also excited to try out and hopefully compete in a more serious and competitive athletic program that this new school would offer.Generally, adjusting the environment of a new school was not difficult for me since my family was constantly moving from one place to another due to my father’s work in an oil company. In short, I was used to seeing new people and new things.   However, what stood out about my new school was its seemingly unmatched athletics department. During that time, the school's sports program was unlike anything I have ever seen before.To finally satisfy my excitement,   I enrolled in the track class during the offseason period which signaled the start of my fruitful journey. As I expected, the training was very rigid and at the same time, very extensive. It consisted of long hours of running on the track, running with weights on your back, doing various exercises up and down a stee p hill, working on field events, and lastly tough weight lifting workouts after school.During my first weeks in training, I was already disheartened and I wanted to quit. I knew it was going to be hard but I had no idea it was more difficult than i expected. Moreover, the seasonal changes in weather was never a factor during our training as we ran when it was freezing cold, scorching hot,   raining hard, and even during the Christmas break and certain public holidays.To top it all, my track coach was a very strict but encouraging man who accepted no excuses from anyone. For him, it's either we do it or we don't. Despite all the difficulties I faced, I was determine to prove to my coach and, more importantly, to myself.I found that all my hard work and perseverance paid during our   first practice meet when I was informed that I was officially a member of the Woodlands High school varsity track and field team. This was a great accomplishment for as I literally went through the ey e of the needle just to make the cut.  From then on, I was on a roll. Not only did I set personal records in the 100m, 200m, 4 by 1 and 4 by 2 relays, but I also help set a school record in the 4 by 2 relay race and 3rd in the school records for both the 100m and 200m dash.I was also both honored and privileged   to participate in Texas Relays at the University of Texas, which is considered as the most prestigious high school track meet competition. In addition, I also competed in the the District Championship where I won one gold medal in the 200m dash and 2 silver medals in the 100m dash and 4 by 1 meter relay.However, among all the competitions I have participated in, the most significant and most fruitful one was the Regional Championships at Waco Baylor. Although I wasn't able to qualify for the next level which was the State Championships,   I felt a surge of satisfaction as I passed the finish line of my last event because I knew in my heart that I had fulfilled my goal s and surpassed the expectations that I have set when I first joined the varsity during training.My achievements became complete when I was awarded most valuable sprinter of the year and appointed as captain of the girls track team in our Principal’s Leadership counsel the next year.Even though I didn't reach the highest competitive level, which is the State Championships,   I still glad that I chose not to quit when times were rough and instead kept on pushing and moving forward. Personally, making the varsity alone was a highly significant accomplishment for me, so to win in extremely competitive events where the very good athletes were also competing was not only a monumental achievement but also a blessing.More importantly, however, I believe that the most important aspect of all the lessons I have learned and all the achievements I have made so far is my over-all growth. For the better part of my life,   I have been running and running just to reach that finish line and accomplish my goal. Looking back, however, I realized that in my journey so far, it is not always the destination that is important.What's important is the people I have met who made a considerable impact on my life and have contributed to my growth and more importantly, the experiences I have gained as I struggled and worked hard to fulfill my tasks.In short, I realized that it in reality, in was not the State Championships that was mattered most, rather, it was the significant events such as the long hours I spent to improve myself and the extremely tedious training   hours I went through and also the people such as my coach who taught me the value of hard work and perseverance, my family who never failed to support me in all my endeavors, and my friends who were always there for me when I needed them most.These are things that mattered most. Personally, to have these experiences under my belt and to have these people by my side as I go further in my career as a track and fi eld varsity player is my greatest achievement in life so far other than winning medals in competitions.

Understanding Juvenile Delinquency in the United States

Statistics show that in the United States, there were more than 4,000 arrests â€Å"for every 100,000 youths† between the ages of 10 and 17 in 2011 (USDOJJDP, 2011a). Juvenile delinquency is defined by Webster’s dictionary as â€Å"conduct by a juvenile characterized by antisocial behavior that is beyond parental control and therefore subject to legal action† (â€Å"Juvenile delinquency,† n.d.). A number of jurisdictions have been exerting effort to prevent minor offenders from involvement in the juvenile delinquency system (USDOJJDP, 2011b). Efforts have been made due to the emphasis on detrimental effects of juvenile delinquency and confinement on youth put forward by research. The following paper will describe the a number of social factors as well as the cooperative cognitive and biological factors that contribute to the development of juvenile delinquency and promote understanding of the psychological process. Neglect can play a significant role as a social factor in increasing the risk for juvenile delinquency (Ryan, Williams, Courtney, 2013). Neglect is defined by the United States Department of Health and Human Services as the caregiver’s failure to provide suitable attention and care in spite of sufficient means to do so (USDHHS, 2012).
